O-5 - With measured Higgs and top masses the SM electroweak vacuum is metastable with lifetime vastly exceeding the age of the universe

This is the modern data-driven verdict on spontaneous electroweak vacuum decay: metastable, not unstable - the disfavored region is absolute stability (at 2 sigma), not safety. The instability scale for Mh = 125 GeV develops at 10^11+-1 GeV.

Why this is evidence

The diagnostic content is the phase-diagram placement, not the lifetime: the measured parameters fall inside the narrow metastable wedge between absolute stability and rapid instability. H-6 predicts landing near the critical line — of which the metastable-but-long-lived verdict is the concrete realization; H-43 assigns the wedge no special probability. The lifetime figure itself (vastly exceeding the age of the universe) is predicted equally by both members and carries no weight here.
