What collider signature would low-scale quantum gravity actually produce at the LHC?

If the higher-dimensional quantum-gravity scale is low, the LHC's earliest and strongest quantum-gravity signal would be an enhancement of highly transverse two-particle final states (dijet and, over a smaller parameter range, leptonic) near the quantum-gravity scale - detectable by compositeness-type searches with reach of order 5 TeV - rather than the widely advertised multiparticle thermal-black-hole signature.

The two-body threshold is argued to sit almost inevitably below the true (thermal) black-hole threshold, and the energy dependence and angular distribution (Rη) of the two-body excess could distinguish black-hole-like cross sections, perturbative string resonances, and higher-dimension operators.
