First paper to work out semiclassical (geometric cross-section) black-hole production rates at a specific real collider: if the true Planck scale is ~1 TeV (per ADD-type models), the LHC would produce a black hole roughly once per second once above threshold, decaying promptly and thermally via Hawking radiation into a high-multiplicity spray of SM particles. arXiv:hep-ph/0106295.
