None of the Laotian BANAL sarbecoviruses carries a furin cleavage site at the spike S1/S2 junction; the internal fusion peptide is conserved.

Why this is evidence
The furin site being absent from every BANAL relative is read by H-43 as a lab insertion and by H-41/H-42 as separately/naturally acquired (undersampled relatives); discriminates H-43 from the natural members, direction contested.
