O-27 - Nationwide survey of -80,000 wildlife, livestock and poultry samples across 31 Chinese provinces found zero SARS-CoV-2 positives

The largest animal-surveillance effort reported to date on the origin question, channelled entirely through the China-CDC-gatekept joint report (hence D-10). No intermediate or reservoir host was identified anywhere in the Chinese animal population sampled. A negative of this kind is limited by absence-of-evidence: it constrains but cannot exclude an intermediate host, and the sampling frame/completeness cannot be independently verified.

Why this is evidence

A nationwide search finding no intermediate host, reservoir, or close relative in Chinese wildlife/livestock is what H-42/H-43 predict (no trade-chain reservoir needed), whereas H-41 (spillover via the animal trade) predicts a findable intermediate — weakly favouring the lab members, heavily caveated by absence-of-evidence (cf. O-26).
