Why this is evidence
H-9 predicts the association concentrates where background diet quality is low (residual confounding by the co-consumed diabetogenic pattern is strongest there) and attenuates to a non-significant 1.09 in the high-AHEI stratum, as observed. H-8’s genuinely causal region effect and H-51’s uniform effect give no strong reason for diet-quality modification. Direction: raises H-9.
