In 102,136 CVD-free Chinese adults (China-PAR; 777,163 person-years, up to 17 y follow-up; 4,848 incident CVD incl. 1,273 CHD and 2,919 stroke), egg intake showed a U-shaped association with incident CVD, lowest at the 3-<6 eggs/week reference: <1 egg/week carried 22% higher risk (HR 1.22, 95% CI 1.11-1.35) and >=10 eggs/week carried 39% higher risk (HR 1.39, 1.28-1.52).
