Retrospective single-center (Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital) case series of the first 99 RT-PCR-confirmed 2019-nCoV pneumonia patients, admitted 1–20 Jan 2020. Reports 49 of 99 (49%) had a documented history of Huanan market exposure — a materially lower linkage fraction than Huang et al.’s 66% from a different, overlapping Wuhan cohort. Also reports a case fatality rate of 11% in this early, hospital-selected sample and detailed comorbidity/lab data.
relevance_note: an independent early clinical cohort giving a second, lower market-exposure fraction than Huang et al., useful for bounding how much the “market-linked” case percentage depends on which hospital/cohort is sampled — i.e. an ascertainment/selection check on the market-clustering claim.
