Replacing 1 serving/day of eggs with nuts (HR 0.78, 95% CI 0.72-0.86), fish (0.80, 0.73-0.87), poultry (0.81, 0.75-0.89), whole grains (0.83, 0.78-0.89) or legumes (0.89, 0.80-1.00) was associated with 11-22% lower all-cause mortality (8,875 deaths) in the Lifetime Risk Pooling Project; at 1 serving/week 2-3% lower (30-year absolute risk 0.5-1.0% lower).
