Million Veteran Program (MVP), a large US Department of Veterans Affairs biobank cohort: 188,267 US veterans enrolled 2011-2018, egg intake by self-administered FFQ, incident non-fatal MI ascertained via electronic health records. No association was found between infrequent egg consumption and non-fatal MI, but a slightly elevated risk emerged at ≥1 egg/day, consistent in direction with Zhong 2019 and the Djoussé PHS findings. relevance_note: A fifth genuinely distinct large Western cohort (US veterans, not physicians/nurses) giving a harm signal at high intake; shares its underlying MVP data basis with the companion Million Veteran Program stroke paper (mint separately).
